1st Virtual Fighter Wing

1. Which version of Falcon do you fly?

Currently we support Open Falcon and Falcon 4.0: Allied Force. However, if our members decide we should support another
version of Falcon, or an entirely new sim, we would be willing to consider that.

2. What version of Open Falcon do you use?

The 1st VFW uses a custom version of Open Falcon 4.7. Once you are selected as a new pilot, we will supply you with the
install guide in addition to the mods we use.

3. Is your training program mandatory? And is the training available for both OF and AF?

No, our training is not mandatory. However, training is the foundation of the 1st VFW, so we highly recommend our pilots to
enroll in training. We are very proud of our training programs. All of our training is available for both AF and OF pilots.

4. What aircraft does the 1st VFW fly?

Our primary aircraft is the F-16, and subsequently all our training is designed for the Viper. However, we do fly a wide variety of
aircraft from time-to-time (F/A-18, A-10, F-15E, F-15C, Mirage-2000, EF-2000, MIG-29, and F-14), as many of us have cockpits
for the different models of aircraft available in F4.

5. Do you have a Wing dedicated server for large flights?

YES! We have our own wing dedicated server that has both OF and AF installed on it. The server is top of the line, and allows
us to host very large flights and exercises on a regular basis. We also use the server for a dedicated IVC for Open Falcon. All
our wing members have access to the server 24/7.

6. Do you use a military rank structure?

No, we do not use a military rank structure, but we do elect squadron CO/XO's for administration purposes. We also award our
pilots achievements with military ribbons and medals. Like everything else, we would be willing to consider using a military
rank structure if our members wanted that.

7. You say you are a democratic organization, but do you really allow 1st VFW members to make Wing decisions?

Yes Sir! Here's a couple examples of how it works. Whenever we have a new proposal or new idea related to the Wing, we will
post a poll in the forum where all our members can vote anonymously on the topic. Then, during our monthly Wing meeting
(that all members are invited to attend), we will discuss the results of the poll and decide the best course of action. It's a
simple but effective process. So when we say we are a democratic organization, we mean it.

8. Do you allow dual memberships (being a member of two VFWs)?

Currently we do not allow dual membership. We offer our members a unique opportunity, including superb training, free FTP
and email accounts, and access to a server. Therefore, to protect our hard work, we do not allow dual membership.

9. Who can apply to First Virtual Fighter Wing?

Anyone can apply to the 1st VFW, regardless of their experience or location. And we welcome pilots from all over the world.
The only two requirements we have are that all our pilots speak some English and are at least 16 years old.

10. How do I apply to the First Virtual Fighter Wing? And are you accepting new pilot applications right now?

If you are interested in applying to the 1st VFW, go to the 'Recruiting' page and review the
application process to make sure you meet all the requirements. When you are ready, fill out the application with all your info,
and we will get back to you within 72hrs. We recommend having ICQ, but if you don't have it, please be sure to leave a email
address where we can contact you.
